making your perfume
Once you've chosen the perfect blend, (see selecting essential blends) you'll need to dilute it in order to wear it as a perfume. There are two main methods for this: jojoba or alcohol.
jojoba
Jojoba is ideal because it doesn't turn rancid. Often very expensive essential oils are sold in a 3% dilution in jojoba.
Add six drops of your blend to half a teaspoon of jojoba, if you intend to wear it as a blend on your pulse points.
Don't make up too large a blend at once, because this amount will last you for some time. Remember, you will only use a drop or two at a time.
Store the remaining essential oil blend in a glass bottle with a tight seal.
alcohol
This is a much more traditional method. Use the highest proof vodka you can find.
Add 20 drops of your blend to 4ml of alcohol and 5 drops of distilled water.
Cap tightly and leave in a cool, dark place for at least a month. If you don't age the perfume, the alcohol aroma will overpower your blend.
Shake the bottle occasionally, but do not open it. You can use this directly on your pulse points as a perfume.
